Investment banking fees tumble by 16%

Investment banking fees have fallen a further 16% this year, adding to fears that the end to the industry's three-year recession is not yet in sight.

A sharp decline in equity capital markets activity around the world has been the biggest problem for investment banking bosses in 2003. ECM fees globally are 40% down so far this year, according to a report from Dealogic, the investment banking data firm.
