Investment manager hires former Stanford team

A US investment manager has hired three former employees of R. Allen Stanford, a Texas financier accused of running an $8bn (€5.8bn) Ponzi scheme, one as a managing director.

Baird, which runs practices including private equity and wealth management, has appointed Gary Vollen, who led Stanford's cleantech team, as managing director of its new cleantech offering, and two former Stanford analysts.
