Real estate agents see once-alternative asset class of university housing becoming mainstream

A UK investment manager has struck one of the largest acquisitions of the past year in the busy market for buying purpose-built accommodation for university students.

Arlington Advisors, based in St James’s, has teamed up with investor Equitix to spend £280m on student buildings including almost 2,500 beds.
