Italian treasury mandates managers for biggest securitisation

The Italian treasury has mandated Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, Banca IMI and IntesaBCI to run its biggest state-related securitisation, expected to be worth €5bn or more, according to market sources.

The deal will be backed by revenues from the sale of property owned by the state. The properties will be transferred to a special purpose company that will employ a real estate firm to sell the assets.
