Jackson quits banking for buyouts

Henry Jackson, who is leaving as head of Deutsche Bank's European consumer and retail group, is holding talks with the bank to provide a cornerstone investment in his new private equity fund.

His new company, Mercapita Partners, is in discussions with two investment banks, one European and one US, to provide a cornerstone investment in its first fund. A source close to Jackson said Deutsche was not the only option but the German bank is supportive of Jackson's plans.
