Jacobs exits HSBC

Gulliver poised to take over investment banking

John Jacobs, head of European technology investment banking at HSBC, is leaving.

HSBC declined to comment but sources close to the bank confirmed Jacobs' departure. He was hired from Credit Suisse in March 2004 as part of HSBC's plan to build an investment bank.
