JP Morgan axes $5bn IBM deal

JP Morgan Chase, the US bank, has cancelled its $5bn (€4.1bn) outsourcing deal with IBM and will now have to re-employ the 4,000 employees it transferred to the computer firm.

JP Morgan said it was cancelling the deal because Bank One, which it acquired for $60bn in January, had the necessary components to manage the infrastructure that had been outsourced.
