Jupiter bleeds £1.3bn ahead of star manager’s exit

Alexander Darwall, a top performer in European equities, is leaving to set up his own boutique — and investors appear to be following him out of the door

Jupiter, the FTSE 250-listed UK asset manager, posted net outflows of £1.3bn between July and September, the bulk of which was from a flagship fund managed by outgoing star manager Alexander Darwall.

The outflows — £1.1bn of which came from the European Growth strategy — caused a drop in Jupiter’s overall assets under management, which fell to £45.1bn, down £800m from the end of June.
