Labour Party to back Boris Johnson’s call for election

Parliament will vote on election proposal later Tuesday

A British general election aimed at breaking the Brexit deadlock looks set for December after the main opposition Labour Party decided Tuesday to back a national ballot.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who on Monday rejected Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s call for an election on December 12, switched positions and said his party’s lawmakers would vote in favour of an election in a new vote in the House of Commons later Tuesday.
