Legg Mason hits record $1 trillion in assets

US asset manager Legg Mason has increased its assets under management to a record $1.01 trillion (€710bn) despite investors continuing to pull billions of dollars from the firm's equities funds.

Assets under management stood at $992bn at the end of June, marking a 2% increase over the three preceding months.
