Lehman hit by trading losses

Lehman Brothers' third-quarter trading revenues fell 63% year-on-year which, combined with a smaller reduction in costs and a more modest decline in investment banking, has resulted in a 37% fall in net income.

Lehman's fixed income and equity trading businesses earned just $234m (€238m) in the third quarter compared with $637m a year earlier.
