Tough policy on boardroom diversity will now extend to 100 largest US and Canadian companies

Legal & General Investment Management, the UK’s largest fund management company, is to ramp up its boardroom gender diversity campaign against US businesses with insufficient female representation at senior level.

The £1tn asset manager said it will begin voting against the chairs of US and Canadian companies where women do not make up at least 25% of board positions, bringing its North American policy in line with its approach in the UK.
