LGIM hands chief role to Zinkula

The UK asset manager responsible for 5% of the UK stock market, reaffirms its commitment to overseas expansion by appointing an American as its CEO

Legal & General Investment Management has appointed Mark Zinkula, its head in North America, as its new chief executive, a year after former chief Peter Chambers announced his decision to retire.

Legal & General said Zinkula's appointment was a signal that the group's remains committed to expansion overseas, and to augmenting its index fund products with actively-managed products and liability driven investment solutions.
