LSE attacks EC new issues proposal

The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has launched a stinging attack on the European Commission's proposals for a directive that would allow companies to use a single prospectus for pan-European equity issues.

The directive in its proposed form would threaten Europe's markets for smaller companies, restrict the access of European investors to international companies and distort free and fair competition among issuing authorities, according to the LSE.
