M&S rejects Green's £9bn but shareholder pressure grows

Marks & Spencer has dismissed entrepreneur Philip Green's £9.1bn (€13.6bn) takeover proposal saying it undervalues the UK retail chain and then launched its own offensive on Green's plan.

The rejection came amid further indications from leading shareholders that they would find a formal 400p a share cash offer attractive.
