Macquarie makes US utility bid

Australia's Macquarie Bank, which has increased its presence in cross-border infrastructure deals in recent months, has made its first move into the US electrical utility market with the purchase of Pittsburgh-based Duquesne Lighting.

The take-private deal is worth $3.15bn (€2.47bn) in debt and equity.
