Mairs leaves Friends Ivory & Sime for Halifax

Gary Mairs, managing director of retail and institutional business development at Friends Ivory & Sime, has resurfaced as managing director of Halifax's asset management business.

Mairs will now report to Douglas Ferrans, the recently appointed chief executive officer. As a member of the senior executive team, Mairs will be responsible for the development and day-to-day management of the £69bn retail and institutional asset management divisions.
