Markit to close OTC reporting service

Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, Citigroup and UBS this week switched from Markit to a new service operated by Bats Chi-X Europe

Markit has said it will close an over-the-counter equities reporting system after the service was snubbed by major banks in favour of a new offering run by Bats Chi-X Europe.

The London-based data firm told clients today that it is to close Markit Trade Reporting, formerly known as Boat, on September 30 next year.
