McInroy & Wood hires former First State equities head

David Shaw Stewart, former head of UK equities at First State Investments, has resurfaced at McInroy & Wood, an independent Scottish private client asset management boutique, based in Haddington.

Shaw Stewart was responsible for First State Investments' flagship investment trust. He left the firm following a decision to run UK equities from London rather than Edinburgh, after the acquisition of Stewart Ivory by First State.
