Goldman Sachs’s former global co-head of M&A has topped a ranking of the most active dealmakers in Europe after a rebound in big transactions last year.

Mark Sorrell, who was promoted to global head of Goldman’s industrials coverage in January as part of a wider shake-up of the senior ranks, advised on £70.6bn of deals announced in 2024, according to a ranking by financial data provider MergerLinks, a Datasite company.
