Mellon approved to sell mutual funds in Japan

Mellon Asset Management in Japan (MAMJ) has been given the thumbs up by the country's Financial Supervisory Agency to sell mutual funds under its own brand.

MAMJ, which was set up in 1998, has been granted an investment trust management (ITM) licence that allows it to create and distribute investment trusts, the Japanese equivalent to mutual funds.
