Mellon loses $9bn of assets in three months

Mellon Financial, the global financial services group, reported a $9bn (€7bn) fall in assets under management to $670bn in the three months to September 30.

The Pittsburgh-based firm, whose asset management operations include UK-based Newton Investment Management, attributed the 1.3% decline to "money market outflows and market depreciation."
