Mellon sees performance fee income soar by $48m

Mellon Financial Corporation saw investment management revenue soar by $65m (€51.1m) in the fourth quarter of last year compared with the third quarter on the back of a $48m increase in revenue from performance fees.

Performance fees totalled $56m in the fourth quarter of 2003, up from just $8m in the third quarter.
