Merrill contract earned $300m for Thomson

Thomson Financial has revealed that it will earn $300m (€280m) from the contract signed with Merrill Lynch late last year, as it reported a drop in overall revenues in 2002.

David Shaffer, head of Thomson Financial, told investors and analysts on a conference call that the contract with Merrill is worth "slightly over $300m over five years" to Thomson.
