Merrill splits European coverage as Yates decides to go

Merrill Lynch said today that a group of senior European bankers will take over client coverage following the decision by Philip Yates to resign as the bank's London-based global co-head of M&A. He will not be directly replaced.

Steven Baranoff, co-head of global M&A, will become sole global head and focus on US clients. European coverage will be shared by a number bankers.
