Merrill's Turkish takeover yields media deal

Merrill Lynch has won the mandate to lead the $350m (€276m) flotation of Turkish media conglomerate Merkez Yayin Holding less than three weeks after buying a local banking group.

Merrill Lynch bought Tat Yatirim Bankasi at the end of last month for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition, which includes Tatbank's wholly-owned brokerage business, gave the US bank a licence to offer investment banking services in Turkey.
