MFR review holds little hope for pensioners

The May Day Bank Holiday has been and gone and still the pension fund industry waits for a crucial ruling on future investment guidelines.

It is now more than a year since the Government ordered the Institute of Actuaries (IoA) to review the Minimum Funding Requirement, a controversial piece of legislation designed to ensure pension fund managers have enough money in the pot to pay their pensioners.
