Morgan Stanley promotes Grossman to general counsel of the Americas

Morgan Stanley chief legal officer Gary Lynch will add the title of vice-chairman and move to London as part of a series of changes in the firm's legal department.

Lynch is a former Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement chief who joined Morgan in 2005 and assisted chairman and chief executive John Mack in the firm's conversion to a bank-holding company last fall.
