Morgan Stanley has become the latest large bank to take the axe to its global workforce as it absorbs the impact of a difficult 2019 and braces for more economic uncertainty in the coming 12 months.

The Wall Street bank is stripping out around 1,500 roles, or 2% of its global workforce, according to a person familiar with the matter. The news was first reported by Bloomberg.
