On a night of high drama in UK politics, MPs voted against leaving the EU without an agreement - but also rejected several specific methods for avoiding that

MPs have rejected proposals from pro-European MPs to delay Brexit, on a night of high drama in the UK parliament.

But they narrowly backed a broad declaration that the government should not leave the EU without an agreed deal in place — dramatically increasing the political drama of the 59 days to go before the UK leaves on March 29.
