Mutual fund sales plummet

The European asset management industry last year suffered its worst levels of mutual fund sales since the start of the decade, with volumes 6% lower than at the peak of the bear market in 2002.

Net investment into mutual funds reached €133bn (£92bn), well short of the €219bn invested in 2003, according to Feri Fund Market Information, the German consultancy.
