Nasdaq creates new market to compete for listings

Nasdaq has created a new market segment to attract global blue chip companies as it competes with the New York Stock Exchange and overseas markets for listings.

The exchange said the new Nasdaq Global Select Market "will have financial and liquidity requirements that are higher than those of any other market."
