Nasdaq Europe clearing house appoints senior executives

EuroCCP, the clearing house set up to clear trades executed on Nasdaq Europe, has appointed Jeffrey Smith as its chief executive and Bernie Till as chief operating officer.

EuroCCP, which is a division of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, the US securities depository, is regulated by the Financial Services Authority as a Recognised Clearing House, and will clear cross-border trades in both European and US securities. It will go live at the end of this year.
