National Grid plans Energis share sale

National Grid, the electricity transmission group, is to place 30 million Energis shares to fund a £400m buy-back of its own stock and acquisitions in the US, reports the Financial Times.

The move would reduce National Grid's holding in the telecommunications spin-off by 10% to 36% and raise about £825m after tax.
