Deutsche bolsters healthcare banking team after departures

In a rare senior hire, German bank moves to replenish its depleted investment-banking ranks

Deutsche Bank has hired a former Lazard and Goldman Sachs dealmaker to lead its mergers and acquisitions team covering healthcare companies, replenishing its ranks after a series of senior departures from the division this year.

In a rare senior investment banking hire at the German lender, which has been stripping out thousands of jobs under a cost-cutting plan unveiled by Christian Sewing, its chief executive, in May, Navtej Bhullar has joined as global co-head of healthcare mergers and acquisitions, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
