Neil Woodford joins Atom bank’s delayed £50m fundraising

Atom CEO denies suggestions in the media that the start-up needs ‘propping up’

Digital bank and mortgage lender Atom has raised £50m from its existing investors, including the Woodford Patient Capital Trust, the listed fund run by struggling fund manager Neil Woodford.

BBVA, the Spanish bank, and Toscafund, the asset manager — both existing investors — participated in the fundraising, with the investment consultant Perscitus advising.
