NewMedia finally wins control of Germany's Spütz

NewMedia Spark, the UK incubator, has finally won control of Spütz, the German brokerage house, drawing the hostile takeover to its conclusion.

NewMedia Spark has bought 53.7% of Spütz's shares, after a turbulent battle for control of the German firm. Vehement opposition came from Bernhard Freytag, the ousted Spütz chairman, who had urged shareholders to reject NewMedia Spark's €8.5 ($7.8) per share offer.
