News in brief: Calpers invests $306m in five funds

Calpers, the Californian pension fund, is to invest $306m (€251m) in five private equity funds. The US buy-out firm Hellman & Friedman is to receive $200m. The US Landmark Equity Partners' fund investing in second-hand private equity portfolios and funds is to receive $10m, the same amount as New York-based Leeds Weld Equity Advisors. Enterprise Investors' fifth Poland and central European fund has been allocated $55m. The remainder is to be invested in the Canadian Richardson Financial Group, which is raising its first fund.
