News in brief: Rutland redeems pawnbroker ticket

Rutland Partners, a UK private equity firm, has tripled its money on H&T Group, after floating the company on London's Alternative Investment Market. Rutland bought H&T, the UK's largest pawnbroker with 69 outlets, from Cash America International for £49m (€71.8m) in 2004. The float, which valued H&T at £91.9m, generated proceeds of £44.5m for Rutland, 2.9 times its initial investment of £15.4m.
