US president George W Bush has nominated Paul Atkins and Cynthia Glassman as new commissioners at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Atkins is a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers while Glassman is at Ernst & Young. Their appointments still need to be confirmed by the US Senate.
