An investment manager set up by former KKR and Oaktree executives has completed its first-ever deal

An alternative investment manager launched by former executives from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Oaktree Capital Management has done its first-ever deal, providing financing for Portuguese chemical company Respol Group’s acquisition of a Finnish chemicals company.

London-based Njord Partners was launched by Arvid Trolle, a former Oaktree vice president, and Jakob Kjellberg, a former KKR director. It has teamed up with Noonday Asset Management and another institution to provide a €65 million senior secured debt instrument, backing Respol's purchase of Finnish sustainable chemicals group Forchem, according to a company statement.
