Nomura promotes Ishida to chief executive

Nomura International has promoted Yugo Ishida, deputy chief executive, to president and chief executive. The appointment comes a month after the Japanese bank formed an alliance with Rothschild to capitalise on growing cross-border activity between European and Japanese companies.

Ishida will replace Hiromi Yamaji who is returning to Nomura's headquarters in Tokyo after three years in London.
