HSBC produced more multi-millionaires in 2018 compared with the year before despite posting a set of full-year results that missed analyst expectations.

Europe’s biggest bank paid 181 people more than €1.5m ($1.7m), according to filings in its annual report, marking an increase of almost 8% on 2017. Of these, 176 were rank and file, with just four executives earning more than that amount.
