Nybot board votes for demutualisation

The New York Board of Trade has voted to begin the process of demutualising the member-owned agricultural exchange.

Demutualisation would allow Nybot to convert its membership interests into shares of common stock that can trade separately from exchange trading privileges. A demutualisation could pave the way for a flotation following in the footsteps of other exchanges such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.
