NYSE launches CME share price probe

The New York Stock Exchange has launched an investigation into a sudden rise in the shares of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

The CME shares closed up almost 13% at $305.95 yesterday after peaking at $307.75 following a statement on Tuesday by the Chicago Board of Trade that it had received unsolicited approaches regarding "business combinations".
