Online fixed-income volumes continue to surge

TradeWeb, the online fixed-income trading platform, has recorded trading volumes of $3.75 trillion (€3.51 trillion) during the first quarter of 2003 - an 80% increase year-on-year - driven by greater acceptance of the platform and favourable market conditions.

Buyside traders were now more comfortable executing large trades through the platform with average trade sizes across all product sectors growing steadily, said TradeWeb.
