Opportunity shrinks for City employment

London has recorded a fourth consecutive monthly decline in new professionals entering the financial services industries

Job opportunities in the City are becoming ever scarcer, with a new report suggesting that the number of financial services job opportunities in London has fallen by 43% over the course of the past year.

Morgan McKinley's London Employment Monitor has recorded a steep reduction even over the last month, with available opportunities dropping by 19% from August to September 2012. The figure compounded a difficult year for a financial sector forced to lay off a large number of employees.
