Opra strengthens sanctions for evaders

Opra, the occupational pensions watchdog, has unveiled tougher penalties for companies and trustees which fail to pay pension contributions on time.

New measures, which come into force on April 3, give the regulator power to impose fines directly on employers or trustees, saving time and dramatically increasing the number of cases it is able to pursue.
