Paulson awarded $18.7m bonus

Hank Paulson, former chairman and chief executive of Goldman Sachs who was confirmed as secretary of the Treasury last week, has received a $18.7m (€14.6m) bonus from the bank.

Goldman said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that Paulson received the cash bonus for "his leadership as chief executive officer for the first half of fiscal 2006."
