Paulson says sorry to Goldman staff

Hank Paulson, chairman and chief executive of Goldman Sachs has apologised to all of the firm's employees after suggesting in a public appearance last week that many of his staff are expendable.

Paulson has sent a voicemail message to all Goldman Sachs' staff to say sorry for making what he described as "glib and insensitive" comments, a source at the bank said.
